How to disable macOS Mojave light theme for some applications

I really like the dark theme in macOS Mojave, I want some programs to always be in black. How to set it up?

There are two main ways to force a dark theme for some Mac apps.

You can do this through the Terminal , but you will have to prescribe the rules for each program manually, in addition, after updating macOS or updating the program, the configuration may crash.

It is better to use a special application, for example, NightOwl .

1. Install the application from the developer’s site .

2. In the menu bar, set the dark mode settings.

3. In the program menu we indicate for which applications light design will not be applied.

So some programs will always remain in the selected design, while others will change the theme on a schedule.
