The founder of one of the largest podcast networks Relay FM, Mike Harley, shared the sad news regarding AppleCare + paid warranty.
On his iPhone 13, scratches were large and deep enough. The Genius Bar refused to replace the glass of the smartphone due to scratches, which “probably appeared due to the Ceramic Shield.” It took £ 300 to replace it.
TIL AppleCare+ does not cover huge scratches on an iPhone, that are now ‘more likely due to the ceramic shield’, as the Genius told me.
£300 repair is required to fix this.
I should’ve ‘read the terms and conditions’, as he said I suppose.

Scratches belong to the category of cosmetic damage, and AppleCare + only applies to mechanical damage (impact, falling, which caused cracks, and so on).
