The game is still in the closed beta stage.
On July 29, a closed beta test of NieR Re [in] carnation, a spin-off of the series for iOS and Android, started in Japan. Along with this, the first gameplay videos appeared on the network.
In the video presented above, you can see the very beginning of the game, when the main character is just getting acquainted with “Mama” – a strange white creature resembling a ghost.
The video also shows a turn-based combat system in the spirit of classic JRPGs, but the action itself seems to take place in a different time frame.
Yoko Taro is responsible for the development of Re [in] carnation, along with several other authors of the original franchise.
