DxOMark: iPhone 11 Pro camera worse than Huawei Mate 30 Pro

DxOMark experts have finally delivered a verdict to the iPhone 11 Pro Max camera.

The novelty scored 117 points on the resource scale, taking third place. The first two are for Huawei Mate 30 and Xiaomi Mi CC9 Pro, each scoring 121 points. But the iPhone 11 Pro turned out to be the best in sound recording quality: it has 71 points.

The flagship was tested on iOS 13.2 , so Deep Fusion technology was already working at the time of verification. Experts noted that due to it, the iPhone was able to save as many details as it captured the Mate 30 with “normal scaling”

Photographers separately praised the dynamic range, overall high detail, fast autofocus and impressive video stabilization. The iPhone 11 Pro simply destroyed last year’s iPhone Xs in terms of noise reduction. It works great.

Alas, iPhones can compete only with a double zoom. Further, the image begins to “crumble into pixels,” while the same Huawei Mate 30 is capable of high-quality shooting with a 5x zoom.

Specialists also did not like hair treatment in portrait mode. The flagships on Android do this better.

The iPhone conveys the texture well, but starts to make noise at maximum zoom.
Mate 30 has no such problems.

And although the iPhone 11 Pro Max did not become a leader in photography, it took first place in terms of video quality with 102 points. The smartphone does an excellent job of capturing HDR images, but sometimes fails with white balance indoors.

Demonstration of the stabilization system:

Video autofocus is very smooth, with good tracking capabilities, and the stabilization system works incredibly efficiently in most situations. [ DxOMark ]
