A comedy about Hitler’s imaginary friend will not be shown in Russia

The satirical film directed by Taiki Waititi about a German boy from the Hitler Youth and his imaginary friend Hitler will not be released in Russia. The press service of the company “Twentieth Century Fox CIS” reported the publication “KinoReporter.” The reasons why the black comedy “Rabbit Jojo” bypasses the CIS market, the distributor decided not to comment.

According to our information, they did not plan to demonstrate it in Belarus either. The world premiere of the film will take place on October 18.

The film was directed by the director of the Marvel movie “Thor: Ragnarok” Taika Vaititi. He played the role of an imaginary Hitler. German boy Jojo “Rabbit” Bezler will be friends with him, who discovered a Jewish girl in the attic of his mother’s house.

The premiere of the film took place as part of the Toronto festival on September 9th. Not everyone liked the comedy.
