Apple has invested a quarter billion in the manufacturer of strong glass smartphones

Apple has long used Corning glass in its devices and has now decided to support the manufacturer with an investment of $ 250 million. Earlier, in 2017, the Cupertians had already invested $ 200 million in Corning.

What exactly the investments will go to is unknown. Glasses from Corning are used in iPad, iPhone and Apple Watch. The new iPhone 11, as Apple reported at the presentation, installed the world’s most durable glass among smartphones. Apparently, Corning will spend money on creating even stronger materials.

Corning glasses are used in all iPhones since the first generation of the smartphone. In total, Apple bought glass for its devices for $ 3 billion.

Apple regularly invests in partner companies. For example, in the current round of investment, the company spent a billion dollars.
