The first “Civilization” was transferred to Excel

An enthusiast in the person of a British programmer transferred the very first game from the Sid Meier’s Civilization series to the rails of the MS Excel office program. The game was developed in the early 1990s. Its simplified version of [Cell] ivization turned out to be implemented in Excel. The game can be downloaded on the developer’s website.

It took about a week to create the game. It was made as part of the OLC CODEJAM 2019 hackathon. If players have interest in this version, the developer promises to expand its capabilities.

Microsoft has already paid attention to development.
