Bethesda has always told the community that microtransactions in Fallout 76 will be purely cosmetic. But less than a year later, the developers released a refrigerator in the game’s internal store, which the community of players had long been asking for. True, they wanted him to be free.
Six months ago, in the Reddit branch dedicated to Fallout 76, users suggested adding a refrigerator to the game, in which they could store the collected water and food for longer. Then the community manager of the game said that the idea was transferred to the developers. The refrigerator really appeared in the game, you can put it in your camp, the food in it spoils 50% slower … but first you need to buy it for 700 atoms. This is an in-game currency equivalent to $ 7. This is only $ 2 less than the full Automatron add-on for Fallout 4.
On Reddit, a riot of discontented has already risen. Perhaps Bethesda will hear them and take the paid refrigerator out of the game, the store in which was conceived as cosmetic, without affecting the mechanics of the game.
