A month ago, there were rumors on the network that new smartphones from Google in the Pixel line will receive screens with a refresh rate of 90 Hz. Enthusiasts from the XDA Developers resource found another confirmation of this in a comment on the Android 10 source code.
One of them describes a part of the code devoted to the detection of fps based on content, the other adds a 90 Hz mode on / off flag. It is intended for temporary use until a more elegant solution is introduced. The developer’s comment states that “the switch in the settings should be available only for P19 devices”. In this case, P is Pixel, and 19 is 2019.
An option for developers will have an overlay under the system clock. A red rectangle will indicate that the application is operating at a frequency of 60 Hz, and a green one at a frequency of 90 Hz.
The Pixel 4 is expected to receive a 5.7-inch OLED display with FHD + resolution. Pixel 4 XL equipped with a display with a diagonal of 6.3 inches. The younger model will have a battery capacity of 2800 mAh, the older – 3700 mAh.
