Frenchman Frankie Zapata today managed to fly the English Channel on a flyboard. He covered the distance of 21 miles (33 kilometers) in 23 minutes this morning.
Zapata started from the commune of Sangatt in the north of France and traveled by air to the British city of Dover. He flew at an altitude of about fourteen meters above the water.
The inventor is forty years old. He crossed the strait at the second attempt, the first one took place on July 25 and was unsuccessful: Zapata missed and missed the platform, where he had to change his pack with fuel (one tank lasts about ten minutes of flight). Now everything went according to plan.
