Studio Psyonix, which is behind the development of the popular racing-football game Rocket League, announced its takeover by Epic Games. It is alleged that the game will continue to be available for purchase on Steam, however, The Verge writes that by the end of 2019 it will migrate to the Epic Games Store. After that, it can not be bought on Steam.
Employees of Psyonix argue that for them in terms of further support of the game, nothing will change. However, after the takeover, the promotion of the game will be strengthened, as well as its development in the eSports field.
The amount of the transaction is not disclosed. It is planned to close in late May or early June.
