In October of this year, the service for creating short clips Vine announced its closure. Twitter simply had no money to finance the project.
Today, Twitter representatives cheered their users, saying that Vine will resume its work in January 2017. True, the site will not be updated, it will continue as a large archive of videos.
The Vine app will change its name to Vine Camera and will save the captured videos to the user’s smartphone. Posting entries can be automatically only on Twitter.
Now it is not known whether the former “stars” of the service will be able to continue making money on their creations. Meanwhile, the social network Coub, Vine’s main competitor, will continue to entice users of the former popular service to itself. [ Mashable ]
